Frequently Asked Questions
What is brass? Will it tarnish?
Brass is an alloy primarily made up of copper and zinc. We only use a recycled brass alloy for all our cast pieces. It is often used in maritime applications for it's resistance to corrosion.
Brass will eventually tarnish over time, similar to silver jewelry, however we have treated our jewelry with a very durable protective finish making it suitable for long term wear.
How do I clean my jewelry?
Storing your jewelry properly really helps prevent it from tarnishing. Keeping your jewelry in an airtight container really helps prevent tarnish from occurring, as does the anti-tarnish finish on most of our pieces. If you prefer to keep your jewelry tarnish-free we recommend keeping a polishing cloth available to remove the tarnish.
Where is your jewelry made?
We work with a small jewelry studio in Bali, Indonesia. They have been a fantastic partner to work with across the seas! Some of our gold-filled chains do come from nearby in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
